PORTRAIT with prop

I chose the mirror as the main prop in this photo because it represents reflection, identity, and how people see themselves versus how others see them. In the picture, the person’s back is facing the camera, but the mirror shows their face. This creates a strong contrast between what is visible and what is hidden. The mirror becomes a symbol of self-discovery and truth. It shows that sometimes we need to look deeper to understand who we really are. The photo also suggests that identity can have two sides — what we show to the world and what we keep private inside. By holding the mirror, the person seems to be searching for their true self or trying to connect the outside and inside versions of who they are. The reflection adds mystery because it makes the viewer question whether the face in the mirror is the same person or a different side of them. Overall, the mirror gives the image more meaning. It turns a simple portrait into a deeper story about self-awareness, perception, and personal growth. Without the mirror, the photo would only show the back of someone’s head, but with it, the viewer can see both perspectives at once.
